A Budget Friendly Winter Capsule Wardrobe
Mixing and matching 13 items endless ways for staying warm and stylish in the months ahead.
This post is in partnership with Gap Factory. Thank you for supporting the brands I am honored to work with.
Building a Winter capsule wardrobe feels like giving yourself a little gift: fewer decisions, more outfits that actually work, and a closet that feels more intentional. I like that Gap & Gap Factory strike that perfect balance of classic pieces with a modern twist — all at prices that make it easy to refresh your wardrobe without the guilt. I’ve been especially impressed by how mix-and-match friendly their current collection is, from classic sweaters to the looser denim silhouettes that are everywhere right now! Their outerwear options are great too, whether you need something polished for holiday dinners or something casual for everyday layering.
I’m excited to share the budget friendly winter capsule I’ve built, as well as outfit ideas to help you dress things up, dress them down, and get the most wear out of every piece (we love!)
Right now, shop the Gap Factory sale that has everything 50-70% off + an extra 10% off your purchase with the code GFGIFTS! Live until 12/13.

Winter Capsule Wardrobe Outfits
Outfit #1: An all-black look is timeless, especially when you add a few glam accessories. This boat neck top pairs perfectly with wide leg trousers (my favorite) — top with a camel coat for a look that reads expensive.
Outfit #2: Pretty sure I wore this exact look the other week. A cropped cream-colored sweater and black trousers is just an effortless combo, plus you could style it with boots or sneakers and a baseball cap depending on your vibe. Once again, this camel coat ties the whole look together.
Outfit #3: I know the barrel jean trend isn’t for everyone, but I have to say - I’ve really enjoyed adding the silhouette into my denim rotation. But! If you’re not sure it’s for you - you shouldn’t be buying expensive denim. Try the trend when the price is right with this pair. This pair comes in tons of washes, but a dark wash jean always has my heart. Add a slightly oversized navy crewneck, and top it off with this gorgeous chocolate brown wrap coat.
Outfit #4: A short puffer jacket makes this jeans and sweater outfit ever so slightly sporty. I always keep a beanie stashed in my pocket this time of year, and this neutral one goes with just about everything.
Outfit #5: I love styling a cardigan as a top, so I would wear it buttoned up and pair it with black wide leg pants for a sleek look. And because I simply can’t resist a good neutral, add a camel topcoat for good measure.
Outfit #6: Elevate the look of leggings by pairing them with the cream crewneck and puffer jacket. A beanie and gloves provide added warmth. The perfect outfit for a weekend coffee run.
Outfit #7: I’m loving how all the different shades play together in this outfit. The camel cardigan, the dark wash barrel jeans, the chocolate coat, and the taupe scarf — lots of neutral but still a lovely layering of shades.
Outfit #8: Think of this as the slightly updated take on “jeans and a tee.” Pair this black boat neck top with jeans, and add the camel topcoat for a bit of elegance.

My fall-winter capsule has gotten a bit out of control although I have purged quite a bit...again. This post is inspiring. Thanks.
