A "No" List
A simple practice that's been helping me make more room for the life I actually want.
What feels like ages ago I saved this Substack post and kept it open on my browser for a long time. The one I kept coming back to? No. 11 - the “no” list.
Those of you who have been a part of my community for a long time know that I’ve always been someone who writes lists of what I want.
Rather, I tend to keep lists for what feels like everything?
My notes app is likely my most used app.
I have lists for every week day. Every weekend. Every month.
I have lists for places I want to visit.
I have a list for goals I want to accomplish. Both personal and professional (separate lists!!)
I have a list for shows I want to watch.
I have a list for restaurants I want to try.
I have a list of my priorities for every next London and Paris trip.
Inspired by my friend Whitney, I now have a Favorite Things list.

But the Substack post about the ‘no’ list kept popping up in my head. And I decided perhaps it was time for a little ‘no’ list to be added to my Notes app.
What are the things I no longer want?
And not because these things are inherently bad! Many of them
may beare wonderful for other people. They’re simply no longer for me.
Some of these things I retired a long time ago (my 20s! my 30s!) and some are newer. And let’s be honest, some are still (kinda) a work in progress.
