A Splash of Color for Summer Outfits
Outfits for Summer vacation — and yes, I'm actually sharing COLOR! (But don't worry - I didn't forget about my neutral girls 🫶🏻)
A few weeks ago I received the message below from a follower and while I personally don’t have plans to add a lot more color to my wardrobe (I feel best in neutrals and like them for their longevity!), it did serve as the perfect dose of inspiration for today’s post. It was perfectly timed when two days later Abercrombie reached out to me to partner and I knew their summer new arrivals would be the perfect opportunity to infuse The Noteworthy Edit with a healthy dose of Summer color!
Even in my 30s, Abercrombie has been my go-to for versatile, well-priced basics (like the Sloane Tailored Wide Leg Pant) as well as more on-trend pieces (like this midi dress). Keep reading for my take on a splash of color as you plan your Summer travels and vacation outfits.

Colorful Outfits for Summer Vacation
Red is the color I’m most drawn to, especially in the Summer and I do love having it as a power color from time to time. This darling dress with a built in bra (and shorts) is 98% cotton which I love for summer and is the perfect base to dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. I wore it HERE in Mexico (in red!) this past April (wearing a M).
I can’t get enough of lightweight, breezy linen when the temperatures rise so this linen drop-waist midi dress is right up my alley (plus very on trend in butter yellow!) And how cute are these crochet style slingback flats? Perfect for navigating uneven cobblestone streets, and versatile enough to pair with anything from dresses to denim.
I feel like pastels sometimes get overlooked during the Summer, but how pretty is this light blue shade? I actually have this linen blend mini dress in black (sized up to L) and it’s such a classic silhouette. My favorite detail is the cinching back tie to get the perfect fit! I’m forever draping a sweater over my shoulders, especially necessary in unpredictable London weather. It feels perfect for a fancy afternoon tea in London or even would be really cute for a wine tasting afternoon in the North Fork or on a boat in Nantucket this summer!
Okay this outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone, but Abercrombie has such a robust active collection I had to share this YPB strappy-back tank (which you could also pair with bike shorts or leggings) paired with this YPB lined wrap skirt (also perfect for those of you who love pickleball or tennis!)
Skorts may be my new favorite for the summer! And unlike other skorts, this linen-blend mini skort has a skirt all the way around the back as well. It comes with a matching top if you like a coordinating set, but I couldn’t resist classic stripes! And how chic are these raffia sandals?
Neutral Outfits for Summer Vacation
Of course I made sure to put together a few neutral vacation outfits as well (I am who I am!) What I love about Abercrombie’s neutral pieces are how easy they are to mix and match — key for packing for a long trip.
You really can’t go wrong with a classic pair of linen-blend pull-on pants (I have these in size M), plus this pair comes in a handful of colors and patterns. And this structured yet stretchy knit vest pairs perfectly with them! This outfit feels so chic and just looks expensive.
I immediately added this gingham one piece swimsuit to my cart (sized up to L)! This rich chocolate hue has been a welcome addition as a neutral shade in my wardrobe. Brown pairs perfectly with white and cream pieces I already own, but feels a bit fresh. You could even style these linen pants in brown as a cover-up!
I never met a white dress I didn’t love (seriously, you should see my closet!) so this smocked midi dress was another immediate add-to-cart (sized up to L). I love how comfortable the smocking is and I find the dipped waist silhouette incredibly flattering. This one is going to be on heavy rotation for me the rest of Summer.
I have long been a fan of Abercrombie’s Sloane Trousers, so I was excited to try the Sloane Tailored Shorts (size 29). I opted for the Curve Love style which eliminates waist gap and has additional room through the hip and thigh, but they also have a classic version if you’re less curvy. I typically size up at least one size in Abercrombie’s pants.

Love this!! Neutrals are so chic but I look terrible in black - need that bright red dress in my life!
I get it, Meghan, I'm a neutrals girl, too, so your wardrobe really speaks to me. 😊. I have been drawn to red this season myself, so I might branch out and give that red dress a try!
