Welcome to Of Note - a monthly roundup of things that I genuinely enjoyed and loved throughout the past month. If you missed last month’s, here is August’s! Sign up below to get them directly to your inbox + get access to my full archive.
Housekeeping note: This post is too long for email. Please enjoy it in the Substack app or on your desktop.
My time in Switzerland to end August and begin September was so lovely and a true highlight of this month. Despite never leaving the hotel and having a lot of laptop time, I loved the hotel and got to enjoy their spa and the insane views it has on offer.
Cozy meals. As soon as it’s open-window weather in NYC I crave favorite comfort meals like this one. Nothing better than pouring a glass of wine, lighting candles and enjoying the mis-en-place of a good meal in your home, right?

Speaking of cozy meals, Lonnies in Brooklyn continues to be one of my go-to favorites spots near me. The burger is SO good!
The New York Hit List - After 15 Years, these are the Spots I Keep Returning to
I've lived in New York since 2011, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that the city never runs out of new places to try. So much of my early years here was spent trying to tick through so many spots. Then in my 30s it was all about trying out all the spots I was saving from social media.
Lightweight jacket weather! I look forward to its return every.single.year. Wearing this jacket in a size L.
This blush combo - the Armani new matte blush blends out insanely well (I have shade 5) and I top it with this powder blush in shade Deep Throat. Highly recommend this blush brush, too.
HART graciously invited me in to make one of their customizable charm necklaces and while the above isn’t the final I took home - it’s very close to it and I think it’s just SO fun and full of personality. It’s definitely different than the sort of necklaces I usually wear but I think it feels distinctly unique and a great conversation starter to pair with classic cashmere crewnecks in the coming months.
For those of you in NYC or visiting soon - their store is on Bleecker street and you can customize on-site bracelets and necklaces and I think the pieces would also make amazing gifts as we inch towards holiday season!
The return of knits and jeans!! I should have taken a picture for you guys of the mid-point of my massive closet clean out and seasonal switch-over. It’s comical how bad it has to get before it gets better.
I Tried On 12 Pairs of Jeans for Fall — Here’s What I Thought
There are few things I find simultaneously as satisfying and as humbling as trying on jeans.
I re-vamped this playlist I’ve had for years and it’s been the soundtrack to my life of late.
I know I won’t shut up about it but this Rue du Verneuil bag really is too good. I love the expandable size, the durable canvas, the large inner pockets…I could go on and on! I know it’s expensivvvvvve for a canvas bag but the quality really is there. I’ve asked them for a code but no luck yet!!

Unexpectedly, my 36 hours in Milan ended up being the highlight of my time in Italy this month. I got such a good dose of design inspo, ate well and got a few fun things, too while shopping.
My Staud Wells Dress continues to be a wardrobe MVP for me and has been since I first got it back in 2021 if that indicates anything. I just always feel good when I don one of my four (!!) colors of it. I wear an 8.
Necessaire Lip Balm. Love this stuff sm - I kept reaching for it every single day I was on the road. Leaves lips feeling so nourished and has the nicest subtle mint scent. See also: Everything I Pack in My Carry On!
Rhône new arrivals were much of what I wore at home this month and I’m excited to share that Rhone just issued me a code for you guys to use on your first orders if you haven’t yet tried the brand! I have become rather hooked on their stuff lately with the ribbed featherweight tee (size L) being my all time favorite but I also love this polo pullover (size L), this anorak (size L), this sweatshirt and this coat (size S). Use code MEGHAND20 for 20% off your first order.
I get to see a lot of celebrities in my neighborhood so I am rarely star struck but there was something so very New York about my latest SJP sighting that just had me buzzing that afternoon.
I had a somewhat cathartic time on the UES the other day (I shared a bit more about it HERE) and it really did lend itself to those “New York is so special” kinda feelings. My very first apartment in New York in 2011 was on the Upper East Side so it’s a neighborhood that will always feel nostalgic to me.
My Theragun mini has been a saving grace all month long as I worked through some low back and hip pain. I honestly can’t believe how much just a few minutes of it helps.
I bought Byredo’s Rose of No Man’s Land Absolu du Parfum back in June in Paris and I keep reaching for it daily. It’s so moody and romantic.
The release of this year’s Fall Shopping Guide! It’s such a labor of love and it always feels like a big accomplishment once it is live. If you haven’t yet - I’d love a comment on it (words of affirmation of my love language 😂) and it helps people discover my work 🫶🏻

Love Of Note! Thank you for sharing. My inquiring mind, please... which jeans are you wearing with your Rue de Verneuil bag? 💙
Love your Of Note posts!! Also, I've been eyeing the Rue de Verneuil bag since you first started talking about it. I just purchased it and can't wait. I'm an interior designer and need a durable bag for samples. Excited for this one - thanks for your wonderful reviews of how things hold up! So appreciated!! (Hope you enjoyed your weekend at home this weekend) :)
