Outfits for Peak Summer Activities
What to wear no matter where you're going. Curated looks for park hangs, dinner dates, weekend getaways and more.
Peak summer is upon us and this is when I start to begin to get tired of my go-to summer clothes, crave a mini refresh and truth be told, begin getting excited for Fall. But since Fall weather is still a ways away, today I’m sharing outfit ideas for peak summer’s activities no matter what’s on your schedule.
Today’s post is in partnership with Banana Republic- a brand I’ve been shopping at for 20+ years! (I recently wore this great set from the brand while in France this Spring you may recall.)
I’m so excited to share my edit of noteworthy items from their current collection today. There are some majorly good gems to be found and I actually had trouble narrowing down my selects (always a good sign!)

Outfits for Peak Summer Activities

For Work
I always like a work dress that you just know you’ll be able to repurpose. I’d wear this off the shoulder take on the shirt dress (a style I am so into atm!) for a work function with mules or a block heeled sandal but then on vacation with an espadrille wedge or a flat sandal as I did above on Nantucket for an evening out.
It’s perfect for that desk to drinks vibe in summer and if you’re not a fan of showing your arms in dresses (a comment I’ve heard from readers over the years), it’s a great option in a fabric that’s not too heavy. And it would also be so good in the Fall with boots I think!?
It also comes in a fun floral pattern if that’s more your style.

For A Coffee Walk with a Friend
For a friend date outside on a hot summer day all I want is to wear black linen. I love a mini dress that isn’t too mini. Some brands I have to return every shorter dress I try because it hits just above where I want it to (I am 5’5” for reference). But this one is great (and also comes in a Tall sizing and another neutral and a fun pattern). (Major) bonus points that you can also wear a regular strapless bra with it because the band in the back actually covers it up.
With the right pair of heels and little bag this dress could be dressed up, too but I would also style it with sneakers or flat sandals.

You could also style it with a linen button down for a beachy vibe.

For Day Trips to the Beach
The Banana Republic Italian lace pieces are so beautiful right now. I think this crochet coverup looks so expensive and I loved how put together I felt throwing it over my swimsuit for an afternoon at the beach. It’s a piece that would pair perfectly from the beach to lunch. I can’t wait to wear it in Mallorca soon.

Or, if you’re more of a pants for a coverup kinda gal, these are so chic.

This midi dress also comes in a gorgeous yellow jacquard that would be perfect for any summer baby or bridal showers you may have on your social calendar.

And while you’re shopping, if your man is in need of some wardrobe newness, the men’s selection at Banana Republic right now is excellent.

That lace beach cover up is darling!
Banana is so good right now! I just ordered two new linen pieces from the summer collection.
