The Noteworthy Bag Edit - Brands to Shop Now
The brands I am eyeing and buying for quality without the designer price tag.
There’s a certain satisfaction that comes with finding a great bag for your collection. I have a whole bag collection I’ve collected and curated for the last 15+ years. It’s comprised of bags that are beautifully made, thoughtfully designed and (for the most part) reliably practical.
Many of my bags hold sentimental value and have been long, thought-out investment purchases. But I’m also of the belief that your favorite bags don’t have to be designer or have logo clout.
I personally want bags that age well, work for my lifestyle and are a variety of silhouettes and colors that feel quietly elevated. I also love a bag where you don’t really know the designer. One that begs the question “who is that by!?”
I feel like there’s a whole host of cool, newer brands that are offering well-priced, well-made styles that will not cost you a paycheck.
As such, I wanted to put together a Noteworthy Bag Edit of brands I’ve been buying and are on my radar. They’re the brands making perfect companions for everyday life, work, travel and beyond.
If you’re in the market for a new bag (or two!), this Noteworthy Edit will be for you.
Le Tanneur — Timeless French Craft
There’s a reason Le Tanneur has endured for over a century. Drawing on French tannery traditions, their bags feel classic without being boring or carbon cut-outs of what everyone else is doing. Think structured totes, everyday crossbodies, and work-ready shapes with gorgeous leather that softens beautifully over time.
I own their Emilie style which is a fun, feminine take on a little briefcase-style type bag. I also own a cute crossbody from them that they no longer offered called the Rose and it’s great. Super happy with the quality and upkeep on both.
They’ve recently introduced men’s bags, too which look great if you need a gift for a guy in your life.
Vestirsi — Italian Craftsmanship, Laid-Back Luxury
Founded in Australia and rooted in Italian leather expertise, Vestirsi offers handmade Italian leather bags that feel elevated without the luxury price tag. Each bag is crafted in Italy by seasoned artisans and designed with practicality and timeless style in mind.
The offer convertible totes and backpacks as well as a variety of shoulder bags and woven silhouettes.
The brand sent me their Eden suede shoulder bag and it’s great. The color of the soft brown / taupe is what drew me to the style. It felt seasonless. Perfect to pair into Spring and welcome back in Fall.
If you’ve been wanting a Bottega but it’s out of budget, you may like one of their woven styles as a substitute.
Their best sellers are all worth browsing.
Jenni Kayne — Quiet Luxury Meets Function
Jenni Kayne’s bags are the embodiment of quiet luxury with pared-down silhouettes, neutral palettes and buttery leathers that will add to any wardrobe. Their edit is very small and changes here and there.
I own two bags from the brand - only one of which is still sold. It’s a great little shoulder bag that is easily dressed up or dressed down.
Demellier — Modern Minimalism
If you’re a regular around here you know that I’ve been recommending this British brand for a while now. I bought my first bag from them back in 2019 I think?
Demellier has quickly become a favorite for bags that feel sleek, modern and seriously well made. They offer a lot of great signature styles from structured totes, mini crossbodies and shoulder bags. They have what I want in bags - great materials, nice finishes and timeless silhouettes.
I feel like Demellier strikes the sweet spot between minimalist and statement making without ever being trendy.
Thanks to a wide distribution in the States, you’ll likely recognize a variety of their best sellers.
I own a clutch style they no longer make and also the darling little top handle Paris bag.
Hunting Season — Sustainable Everyday Bags
If sustainability and quality are at the top of your list, Hunting Season delivers. Their leathers are responsibly sourced and the craftsmanship is gorgeous.
The silhouettes are simple yet considered and I like that their bags often pair beautifully with both casual and more polished looks. Their shapes feel unique and extremely designer and I appreciate that they keep their price point competitive.
My first bag from them was this cute black/black raffia bag that’s perfect for warmer seasons. It sold out right away but I spotted it fully back in stock and in new colorways!
This satin clutch is atop my 2026 wish list. (And this one is stunning, too!)
