The older I get the more I appreciate the slower, savored elements of life. I’ve long been one to find joy in the little things in life but even more so now in my late 30s. I love an early bedtime or a early morning coffee walk with a friend. I cherish great meals and a specialty cocktail in a vintage glass in deeper ways now.

So I thought I’d put pen to paper on all my ways I plan to soak up and savor a slow-living-inspired summer in the months ahead. 25+ ways to be exact!!

(The whole “hot girl summer” thing never really resonated with me anyway.)

Join me, won’t you?

The Slow & Savored Summer Guide

Al fresco dining

As many meals outside, please. On a terrace. On a picnic blanket. On a park bench. On a friend’s patio.

And relatedly, aperitifs with friends featuring light snacks and crisp, perfectly chilled wine or spritzes.

Oversized pajamas

Buying a pair of pajamas one size up is kinda genius for loungey, lazy day vibes. I love the pairs I own from Lake Pajamas in particular.

Meals inspired by farmer’s market visits

I’m never better at farmer’s market meals than in the summer when the produce feels like its at is peak perfection. Give me all the tomato, asparagus and zucchini dishes, please. And more fresh herbs in everything!!

This Zucchini Pasta recipe is one of my all time favorite summer dishes to whip up after a trip to the farmer’s market.

And there’s nothing lovelier than ripe heirloom tomatoes topped with burrata, basil, olive oil and some salt IMO.

Have a favorite summertime recipe? Drop it below, pretty please! I want to try it.
